Savage Mountain Youth Center

Lonaconing Forestry Camp for Boys opened in December 1957 and was renamed Savage Mountain Youth Center (SMYC) in 1977. After closing in 1999, SMYC reopened in 2001. SMYC provides a six- to nine-month treatment program for male youth primarily between the ages of 14 to 18 who have been ordered by a court to receive treatment services.

Meadow Mountain Youth Center

Meadow Mountain Youth Center (MMYC) opened in June 1958 as the Meadow Mountain Forestry Camp for Boys. The Meadow Mountain Youth Center is one of six treatment programs operated by the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services (DJS). The Center, located in Garrett County, serves up to 40 youth from across the State, between the ages of 13-18.

Cheltenham Youth Detention Center

The facility was called the Cheltenham Youth Facility from 1992 until 2016 when the new facility opened as Cheltenham Youth Detention Center. Located in Prince George's County, Cheltenham serves as a secure detention facility for male youth who are waiting to go to court or be placed in a treatment facility.

Waxter previously served both secure detention and secure committed treatment populations of female youth, the Department of Juvenile Services closed the secure treatment program for girls in December 2011. Waxter now only serves as a secure detention center for female youth.

Stockholm Fringe Festival was founded in 2009 and has yearly brought the city both international and local talent. STOFF is multidisciplinary including visual art, standup, and workshops beyond the expected amount of theatre and performances. The red thread is all acts being cutting edge, artistically and/or politically daring and representing arts which don’t usually get picked up by institutions or bigger stages.
